On Behalf of Neville Tough:

Remembering John Condron 42 years on, my best friend, stuntman and chef.
It’s been three weeks since a memorial plaque was unveiled in Taghmon Co. Wexford. It was placed on the castle wall where the Condron family and friends, including ex stunt team Dominic, myself, Martin, Alan and Peadar, and also local people gave special tribute to the fantastic man that John was. I hope this short video gives an insight into the proud and emotional day that was experienced by all present. Thank you to The Taghmon Historical Society for preparing the day so well in August 2024. John is remembered fondly from Palmerstown to Connemara.

A good but poignant day on Saturday 17th August for the Condron family and fellow stunt man Neville Tough at the unveiling of the memorial plague for John Condron on Taghmon Castle. Taghmon Castle, circa 1400 was built by the Talbot family.

A little more recently on Sunday 15th August 1982, stuntman John from Palmerstown Dublin was performing a free fall from the castle as the finale to the Mardi Gras.

Tragically the stunt did not go according to plan and stuntman John Condron died at the base of the castle. It was a terrible day for John, his family, friends and fellow stuntmen. It was a terrible blow to the local community too.
A little bit of closure was found by the erecting of a plague in John’s memory on the 17th of August last.

May he Rest in Peace.
