On Behalf of Neville Tough:
A good but poignant day on Saturday 17th August for the Condron family and fellow stunt man Neville Tough at the unveiling of the memorial plague for John Condron on Taghmon Castle. Taghmon Castle, circa 1400 was built by the Talbot family.
A little more recently on Sunday 15th August 1982, stuntman John from Palmerstown Dublin was performing a free fall from the castle as the finale to the Mardi Gras.
Tragically the stunt did not go according to plan and stuntman John Condron died at the base of the castle. It was a terrible day for John, his family, friends and fellow stuntmen. It was a terrible blow to the local community too.
A little bit of closure was found by the erecting of a plague in John’s memory on the 17th of August last.
May he Rest in Peace.
